Why Choose Conservative Care First?

Read Now

For years, many patients would find relief through conservative forms of health care such as chiropractic services only after unsuccessfully trying a range of other, more complex and riskier treatments. Today, that approach has been reversed, with more medical research and guidelines supporting the idea that patients should exhaust conservative approaches to pain management and other conditions before moving on to other treatments.

For example, a recent study based on Washington state workers found that only 1.5% of those who visited a doctor of chiropractic first for work-related back pain later had surgery, compared to 42.7 % of those who saw a surgeon first. Conservative care offers safe and effective (as well as cost-effective) ways to reduce pain and muscle spasms. A 2012 study found that spinal manipulation for neck and back pain was cost-effective used either alone or combined with other therapies.

You and your body will be together for the rest of your life. That’s reason enough to seek out conservative care first.

Are You Eating Ice Cream That Won't Melt or Noodles That Don't Digest?

Two popular internet videos may make you think twice before eating cheap processed food for your next meal or snack.

The first video shows an experiment with one of Walmart's Great Value ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream sandwich is left in the hot sun for over an hour and hardly melts while a scoop of ice cream turns into a puddle.

Another video was made by a scientist studying how the body digests processed ramen noodles compared to homemade noodles. Video from inside the stomach shows the processed ramen noodles staying intact much longer than the homemade noodles.

Like all processed food, these ice cream sandwiches and noodles are made with a variety of chemical additives to make them last longer on store shelves, but at what cost to our health?

Try something fresh for your next meal instead of processed food.
