Give It Up...Make Room for Change
Move beyond frustration.
When we look closely, it often becomes clear that we are carrying extra 'baggage' that stops or slows our improvement. What baggage do you need to give up right now to improve, to get better, to be at peace? Are you stuck in old memories, limitations, doubts or fears. You must give up whatever is in the way of your improvement.
Fear is often the baggage that holds us back. Frustration is another piece of baggage we drag along. Whatever the fear or frustration is, you must face it and move beyond it. Giving up your baggage (fear, frustration or something else) is a three step process explained by Author Baptiste in his book, Being of Power. The first step is to be aware of your fear or frustration when it is present. The second step is to accept your fear or frustration for what it is... and what it is not. You must give up judging whether it is right or wrong, good or bad and release any story you might be spinning about it... like "This should not be happening to me." "I don't want this." or "I just can't do this." The third step is to declare, "Right now, I give up fear," "Right now, I give up frustration."... and release it.
Baptiste writes, "There is immeasurable power in declaration that works if we own it in the present as if it's already real, true, and in existence. It also puts our attention on what we want to happen and takes our intention off of what's stopping us."
The reality is that this will take practice... repetition will likely be necessary. Your transformation will not happen instantaneously. When that fear or frustration baggage shows up, just let it go, again and again. Robert Frost noted, "The best way out is always through." Acknowledge it, feel it, accept it as it is... and release it.
Whenever you feel stuck, ready for a change, and not sure what to do... begin by asking yourself, "What do I need to give up right now? " Giving up your baggage of fears, doubts and frustrations will create a more healthy, happy, and naturally powerful you. Take every opportunity to release your baggage.
