Imagination & Affirmation
James Mapes, author of Quantum Leap Thinking writes, "The speed with which you achieve your goals directly relates to how clearly and how often you visualize them." He goes on to explain that our thoughts are like magnets, saying, "You will always move in the direction of your thoughts."
Albert Einstein seemed to agree, when he noted that, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Dr. Maxwell Maltz, author of Psycho-Cybernetics, wrote "Your nervous system cannot tell the difference between an imagined experience and a ‘real’ experience.” He explained that "A human being always acts and feels and performs in accordance with what he imagines to be true about himself and his environment...For imagination sets the goal ‘picture’ which our automatic mechanism works on. We act, or fail to act, not because of ‘will,’ as is so commonly believed, but because of imagination.”
Taking this a step further Dr. Maltz wrote, “Our self image, strongly held, essentially determines what we become.” He also noted that “Our self-image and our habits tend to go together. Change one and you will automatically change the other.”
Find a quiet place each day and take a few minutes to vividly imagine your goals already accomplished. Imagine yourself exercising all the positive habits necessary to reach your goals. Write an affirmation describing your goals achieved and read it often. This will give your subconscious mind a road map for success.
