Ingredients
1 head of broccoli chopped
1 head of cauliflower chopped
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons whole flour
1 cup whole milk
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup finely chopped nuts
1 clove garlic
Try to use good quality milk and cheese without chemicals and with whole fat.
Cheesy Baked Broccoli & Cauliflower
Vegetables can be delicious!
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Add half of butter and pinch of salt to nuts in a separate bowl and toss well to coat.
Add flour, salt, pepper, and garlic to butter in the saucepan. Add milk and mix well.
Heat on medium, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and bubbles.
Reduce heat to low and add half of cheese; mix until melted.
Pour the sauce over vegetables in a casserole dish and mix gently. Sprinkle rest of cheese on top. Save nuts for later.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle nuts on top and bake 10-15 more minutes until golden brown.
