Fibromyalgia & Chiropractic
The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress shares the many benefits chiropractic care can have for those suffering from fibromyalgia. Two inspirational testimonials relay personal experiences in which chiropractic care is considered life-altering.
One testimonial is from Brigadier General, Rebecca Halstead. Her fight with fibromyalgia during her years of service ultimately lead her to retire early. The bags of medications she was taking daily did not allow her to function at her best. Once Halstead retired, care from a chiropractor changed her life. Our Patient, Wanda, Shares Her Fibromyalgia Success Story Wanda came to our clinic noting complaints of fibromyalgia (diagnosed by her medical doctor), low back pain, restless legs, fatigue, and poor sleep. These complaints bothered her for years and required her to take multiple medications. |

After evaluating Wanda, we began chiropractic treatment and physiotherapy to address her structural problems. She gradually improved with each visit and was able to reduce her use of pain medications and increase her activity level. We then took the next step to address dietary issues. Wanda completed the purification program, eating only healthy foods for three weeks. By her completion of the program, she noted no longer taking medication to go to sleep, she stopped taking Nexium for indigestion, her energy level increased, and she lost weight.
Other improvements included: less pain intensity & frequency, less joint stiffness & muscle tension, better motion, less pain medication needed, better able to be active. She also noted an improvement in her hands and feet where she had pustular psoriasis. Wanda noted, "This program teaches you how to make better choices. Makes you think about what you eat and if you make the changes, you'll see how much better you will feel. Definitely a learning experience; Glad I did it :)"

Addressing Structure & Nutrition for Fibromyalgia
Chiropractic treatment or nutrition & diet counseling alone can significantly help those dealing with fibromyalgia. However, combining the two provides the greatest success in improving and controlling fibromyalgia complaints. Addressing only structural issues or only dietary issues may not be as successful in improving your complicated condition. If you suffer from fibromyalgia, schedule a visit with one of our doctors. |
