Conquer Yourself & Improve Your Life
Self-discipline is the foundation of greatness
"The first and best victory is to conquer self." — Plato (Greek Philosopher)
To accomplish anything good, you must have courage-- courage to think in new categories, courage to change, courage to decide what you will do, courage to begin and courage to persist until you are successful.
As an example, if you want to improve your health, you must decide what changes you want to make (your goals), set your plan to achieve the goals (the changes you seek), get started on your plan of action... and then stay the course until you reach your goals.
If you want to improve a relationship, conquer a fear or gain new strength of character, work on your self-discipline. Self-discipline requires courage, the courage to control your thoughts and your actions, the courage to overcome any fear of failure and just get started and the courage to persist through challenges, doubts and temporary failures until you are successful.
Author Brian Tracy writes,"Self-discipline is the one quality that gives you the strength that you need to take risks and to move forward in the face of danger and uncertainty. It is self-discipline, and the courage that comes from self-discipline, that develops personal power within you that enables you to overcome any obstacle in your way." Tracy continues..."Courageous people are those who have a dream and set a goal, make a plan and take the first step, with no assurances and no guarantees that their efforts will result in success."
Self-discipline is the foundation of greatness
Author Matthew Kelly writes,"Self-discipline is the foundation of greatness, achievement, heroism, leadership, sanctity, and vibrant and flourishing communities and nations." Self-discipline is about character... it is the strength to do the right thing, for yourself and others.
Set your goals for improvement and get started! Your good health goals should include diet improvement, regular exercise, plenty of water, periodic chiropractic check-ups & adjustments, adequate sleep, and avoidance of risky practices like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and use of unnecessary drugs. Optimal health is expressed in full function (mental and physical), energetic activities, positive relationships, enthusiasm for life and joyful service to others. Good habits can return you to vibrant good health and keep you optimally healthy. Change your habits to change your health and change your life. Creating and maintaining good habits requires self-discipline.
“Self-discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts. If you don't control what you think, you can't control what you do. Simply, self-discipline enables you to think first and act afterward.”-- Napoleon Hill -- (American author)

*** Taking each of these steps will build your self-discipline and increase your positive results.***
U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt noted,“With self-discipline most anything is possible.”
Olympic Gold Medalist, Jesse Owens said,“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.”
